About

Radiologist-performed scans at Vivekananda Hospital

Dr. Srilatha Puli is the Chief Radiologist at Vivekananda Hospital, Begumpet. She trained in radiology through the DNB programme and has over 12 years of clinical imaging experience, with primary focus on obstetric ultrasound, colour Doppler studies, and ultrasound-guided procedures. She personally performs every obstetric scan the department undertakes, which is the single most important structural difference between hospital radiology and a technician-led diagnostic chain.

Her clinical strength is fetal medicine imaging. She works daily with the hospital’s OB-GYN team on high-risk pregnancies, suspected fetal anomalies, placental assessment, and third-trimester Doppler studies. A proper TIFFA anatomy survey at 18 to 22 weeks takes her 45 to 60 minutes, because every fetal structure from skull sutures to foot alignment needs a direct view. Rushing the scan defeats the reason for doing it.

Before joining Vivekananda Hospital full-time, Dr. Srilatha consulted at the Epione Center for Pain Relief, where she built a strong practical base in musculoskeletal ultrasound and image-guided injections. That MSK foundation now supports the orthopaedic and sports medicine workflows at Vivekananda, where ultrasound is used for bursitis, tendon tears, joint effusions and guided aspiration. She also interprets CT scans across neurology, trauma, emergency and general medical admissions around the clock through the on-call roster.

Patients describe her scans as unhurried and clearly explained. Reports are handed over the same day, usually within one hour of the ultrasound, and she walks the patient through the findings at the end of the scan before the written report is generated.

Patient Questions

Frequently asked questions

What are Dr. Srilatha Puli’s OPD timings?
Monday to Saturday, 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM, at the Radiology Department of Vivekananda Hospital, Greenlands Road, Begumpet. For emergency imaging outside OPD hours, she is on the on-call roster with the radiology team 24 hours a day.
Does Dr. Srilatha personally perform the ultrasound, or a technician?
All obstetric scans, colour Doppler studies and ultrasound-guided procedures are performed by Dr. Srilatha herself. For routine non-obstetric ultrasound during peak OPD load, a trained sonographer may perform the scan under her direct supervision, with Dr. Srilatha reviewing every case before the report is issued.
How long does a TIFFA scan take?
A complete TIFFA anatomy survey takes 45 to 60 minutes. The scan is done between 18 and 22 weeks of gestation. If fetal position prevents a full view, Dr. Srilatha schedules a repeat short scan within a week at no additional charge, which is standard fetal medicine practice.
How do I book an appointment with Dr. Srilatha?
Call +91 72079 04418 or WhatsApp the same number. You can also use the Book Appointment form on this page. Specify the scan type at the time of booking because obstetric scans, TIFFA, NT scans, fetal echo and guided procedures need longer slots than routine ultrasound.
Does Dr. Srilatha report CT scans?
Yes. Dr. Srilatha is part of the on-call radiologist roster that reports emergency CT scans 24 hours a day. Outpatient CT scans ordered during her OPD hours are reported by her directly. CT scan at Vivekananda Hospital runs round the clock including Sundays and public holidays.
When will I get the scan report?
Ultrasound and colour Doppler reports are handed over the same day, usually within one hour of the scan. Dr. Srilatha also explains the findings verbally at the end of the scan before the printed report is generated. CT and X-ray reports follow the standard turnaround: 2 to 4 hours for OPD and 30 to 60 minutes for emergency cases.
Is Dr. Srilatha available at any other hospital?
Dr. Srilatha is now full-time at Vivekananda Hospital. She previously consulted at the Epione Center for Pain Relief. For all scans and consultations, visit Vivekananda Hospital, Greenlands Road, Begumpet.
What languages does Dr. Srilatha speak with patients?
English, Telugu and Hindi. She explains findings in whichever language the patient and family are most comfortable with, and shares key findings in writing when needed for referral to another specialist.
