What Is the EHS / NEHS Scheme?
The Employees Health Scheme, relaunched as the New Employees Health Scheme (NEHS), is the Telangana government's cashless healthcare scheme for state employees, pensioners and their families. It replaces the old medical reimbursement system with direct cashless treatment at a network of empanelled hospitals, using a digital health card. Launched on 17 July 2026, it covers about 17.88 lakh beneficiaries, with 1,816 approved medical and surgical packages and no upper financial limit on covered treatment.
