Can I use my United India policy at Vivekananda Hospital?
Our insurance and empanelments page includes United India Insurance Co. Ltd. To arrange cashless treatment for your particular admission, the next step is to verify the patient’s policy and the TPA or claims team handling it.
When you call, keep your e-card and policy schedule nearby. Tell us whether this is a planned admission, an emergency admission or an enquiry before consulting a doctor. If your insurance is through an employer, mention that it is a group policy and check which family members are covered.
Why the TPA name matters
A Third Party Administrator, or TPA, helps service health insurance claims. United India publishes a TPA directory with network hospital links. Use the TPA named on your own e-card or policy schedule; a list belonging to another TPA may not answer your policy’s network question.
If you see “PPN” in your documents, it refers to a Preferred Provider Network. Ask your TPA which network arrangements apply to your policy and proposed admission. Our listing on the hospital website is not a substitute for checking the current arrangements applicable to your card.
Questions to ask before booking admission
- Is the policy active, and is the patient named as an insured member?
- Which TPA or claims team should receive the pre-authorisation request?
- Is cashless treatment available here under this specific policy and network?
- What cover remains available, and are there treatment or room-category limits?
- Do waiting periods, exclusions, co-payment or deductible conditions apply?
- Which documents and admission notice are required for this case?
Ask the desk to check your actual documents. Benefits under an individual policy, a family policy and an employer’s group policy should not be assumed to be identical.
Documents for United India cashless admission
For verification at Vivekananda Hospital, keep the following documents ready. This is our hospital preparation checklist; the insurer or TPA may request additional papers for the claim.
| Document | What to keep ready |
|---|---|
| Insurance e-card | Your United India or servicing TPA e-card, showing the patient’s member details. |
| Policy details | Policy number, current policy schedule and the TPA name, if shown. |
| Identity documents | Aadhaar card and PAN card. Contact the desk if either is unavailable or you need to confirm whose documents are needed. |
| Doctor’s prescription | The prescription and advice relating to the proposed admission or treatment. |
| Medical reports | Relevant investigation reports and earlier records connected with the current treatment. |
| Additional case documents | Any further information requested by the treating team, insurer or TPA for your admission. |
Check that the patient’s name and other details match across the documents. If your e-card has a spelling error or your dependent has recently been added, inform the desk early so the correct claims contact can advise you.
Start your WhatsApp enquiry with a simple request for assistance. Ask the team how to submit documents securely before sending Aadhaar, PAN or medical records.
How the United India cashless admission process works
For a planned admission
- Contact our insurance desk. Call or WhatsApp 7207904418. Explain that you hold United India Insurance and have been advised admission.
- Prepare your records. Keep the e-card, policy details, Aadhaar, PAN, prescription and reports ready. Ask which TPA will handle the request.
- Coordinate pre-authorisation. The hospital team prepares the admission and treatment details for submission through the applicable insurer or TPA process.
- Clarify pending requirements. Ask whether the request has been received and whether further documents or clinical details are needed.
- Understand the decision. Check the authorised amount, conditions and any expected patient share before finalising your admission arrangements.
For an emergency admission
Seek medical attention immediately. A family member can contact the insurance desk and the number on the policy or e-card alongside treatment. Ask about the applicable emergency intimation requirement and provide the available records promptly. Do not wait for a WhatsApp reply or cashless decision before seeking urgent care.
During the hospital stay and at discharge
Keep the pre-authorisation reference available for follow-up. Ask the desk if any further approval is needed when the treatment plan or estimated bill changes. Before discharge, request an explanation of the final authorised amount and any policy-related payment due from you.
United India’s official claims guidance and forms are useful references. Your policy schedule, wording and the written approval for your admission remain the documents to check for the actual claim.
What does the patient need to pay?
For approved cashless treatment, Vivekananda Hospital does not collect an additional amount beyond the insurance claim, except applicable co-payments, policy deductions and consumables not covered by the insurance policy.
Ask for a clear explanation of your share before admission where possible, and again when the final bill is assessed. “Cashless” should not be understood as a promise that every item on every bill is covered.
- Co-payment: the portion of an admissible claim that your policy requires you to pay.
- Policy deductions: amounts not approved under the terms applicable to your claim.
- Non-covered consumables: consumable items payable by you where your policy and approval do not cover them.
Ask which clause or approval condition explains each deduction. Our insurance desk can help you understand the billing breakdown; the hospital’s payment policy does not change the insurer’s coverage decision.
If cashless approval is delayed or declined
Ask whether the request is awaiting information or has been declined, and obtain the stated reason. A missing document, a network issue and a policy exclusion require different follow-up. Do not assume that repeating the same request will resolve the underlying issue.
Discuss the available billing arrangements with the hospital. If you pay for treatment, ask your insurer or TPA whether reimbursement can be considered and which documents and deadlines apply. Reimbursement is assessed separately and is not guaranteed.
Getting useful help from the insurance desk
Our desk operates from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM IST. You can call or WhatsApp 7207904418 at any time, 24/7, for hospital assistance. Phone and WhatsApp availability does not mean that the insurer has approved the claim.
For a new enquiry, tell us the insurer, the TPA name if known, whether admission has been advised, and when you plan to visit. For an existing request, keep your reference number available and ask what action is pending and who needs to provide it.
If you are still arranging a consultation, see our hospital departments. Confirm the appointment and the insurance requirements separately.
Frequently asked questions
Is United India cashless treatment available at Vivekananda Hospital?
Yes, United India Insurance is included in our hospital’s empanelment list. Cashless treatment for your admission depends on the current policy and network arrangements, the treatment advised and pre-authorisation. Call 7207904418 before a planned admission.
How do I find my United India servicing TPA?
Check your health e-card and current policy schedule for the TPA name and contact details. If you cannot find them, ask the insurer or your employer’s benefits team for a group policy. Our insurance desk can guide you on which details to check.
Can I use an employer or family member’s United India policy?
Bring the current e-card and policy details and ask for verification. Do not assume that every dependent is covered. The patient’s membership and the benefits applicable to the admission need to be checked.
Are Aadhaar, PAN, e-card, prescription and reports required?
These are on our hospital’s preparation checklist. Keep them ready when contacting the insurance desk. If a document is unavailable, ask the team what is needed for your particular case before visiting.
Does cashless insurance cover a consultation or diagnostic tests?
Ask whether your policy includes outpatient benefits and whether the proposed service qualifies. An inpatient cashless facility should not be taken as automatic approval for a standalone consultation, scan or blood test.
Will I need to pay anything for approved cashless treatment?
Under our hospital payment policy, the patient pays only applicable co-payments, policy deductions and non-covered consumables for approved cashless treatment. Ask the desk to explain any amount shown as payable by you.
How long will cashless approval take?
We do not promise an approval time. Ask the desk or servicing TPA about the status of your request, any outstanding information and the next step. A document submission or WhatsApp acknowledgement is not an approval.
Can I contact the insurance desk at night?
You can call or WhatsApp 7207904418 at any time for hospital assistance. The insurance desk’s working hours are 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM IST. Insurer or TPA authorisation follows its own process.
What if I cannot find the hospital in my TPA’s list?
Contact the desk and the TPA before planning cashless admission. Confirm the hospital’s exact name, Begumpet address and the network applicable to your policy. Do not rely on a directory for a different insurer or TPA.
Can I claim reimbursement if cashless treatment is not approved?
Ask United India or your servicing TPA whether your claim can be considered for reimbursement. Keep the bills, receipts, discharge papers and requested records. Payment is subject to claim assessment and the applicable policy terms.
