Senior neurosurgeon with three decades of brain and spine operating experience

Dr. Venkatesh Yeddula is a Visiting Senior Consultant Neurosurgeon at Vivekananda Hospital, Begumpet, with over 31 years of clinical and surgical experience and more than 10,000 major neurosurgical procedures performed across brain, spine and peripheral nerve surgery. His primary practice is at CARE Hospitals, Banjara Hills, where he serves as Senior Consultant. He consults at Vivekananda Hospital three evenings a week, which gives patients in Begumpet, Ameerpet, Somajiguda and Secunderabad access to his expertise without travelling across the city.

His training foundation is from one of India's leading neurosurgery programmes. He completed his MCh in Neurosurgery from TN Medical College, Mumbai, after his MBBS and MS in General Surgery. He later pursued a Storz Fellowship in Neuro and Spine Endoscopy, which equipped him with the skills for minimally invasive brain and spine surgery that form a significant part of his current practice. His previous consultant positions include CARE Hospitals, Sunshine Hospitals, Global Hospitals and Yashoda Hospitals.

His clinical strengths span the full breadth of neurosurgery. On the brain side, he operates on brain tumours including meningiomas, gliomas, acoustic neuromas and pituitary adenomas, with experience in awake craniotomy for tumours near speech or motor areas. He performs neurovascular surgery including aneurysm clipping and AVM excision. On the functional side, he offers deep brain stimulation for Parkinson's disease and essential tremor. On the spine side, his repertoire covers cervical and lumbar discectomy, spinal decompression, spinal fusion, minimally invasive spine surgery and spinal cord tumour removal.

He also treats paediatric neurosurgical conditions including hydrocephalus, spina bifida, craniosynostosis and tethered cord. This is an unusual addition for a senior neurosurgeon since paediatric cases are often referred away to dedicated children's hospitals. His willingness to take them means families in Begumpet do not need to travel to Hyderabad's paediatric specialty centres for evaluation and treatment.

He holds active memberships in the Neurological Society of India, the Congress of Neurological Surgeons USA, the World Federation of Neurological Surgeons and AO Spine. These international affiliations reflect ongoing engagement with current surgical techniques and participation in global neurosurgery knowledge exchange.
